The most popular grade of material, SuperLite, has excellent strength-to-weight ratio and is 20-40% lighter than traditional solutions. Compared with fully injection-molded plastic applications, Azdel SuperLite composites can significantly reduce weight in vehicle interiors.
For example, by utilizing SuperLite as the lightweight substrate for doors, then back-injecting the plastic material only where needed to create stiffening ribs, clip towers, screw bosses and other design features, manufacturers can obtain up to 25% weight savings compared with a fully injection-molded door.
