DAY 2: Stratasys 3D printer crafts futuristic design for Peugeot EVs
encee

Peugeot is exhibiting its fresh design concept for EVs. Known as the Inception Concept, an idea from Peugeot's new design director, Matthias Hossann, it focuses on a minimalist cockpit to redefine the driving experience. A notable feature is the use of seats upholstered in recycled polyester velvet, with a distinctive 3D pattern crafted exclusively through Stratasys 3D printing technology.

Maud Rondot, a CMF designer in Peugeot's Advanced Design Team, underscored the harmonious blend of function and aesthetics. She explained that the versatility of the velvet material goes beyond seating, serving as an eye-catching floor mat. Stratasys 3D printing facilitates this integration of functionality, texture and aesthetics, eliminating the need for traditional molds.

The choice of a metallic hue for the velvet, with its dynamic interaction with light, introduces a futuristic element. With its ability to produce semi-transparent 'micro-architecture’, the J850 TechStyle 3D printer is a transformative tool, supplied by encee, providing Peugeot's innovative design approach with flexibility, efficiency and sustainability.
