In-mold labelling (IML) is a well-proven technology, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be used for further innovation. Heyco will show how it can be used for integrated electronic functions, sensors and novel optics. Products made using IML range from buttons to any decorative interior panels with integrated functions.
HEYtronic is a process for injection-molded parts with a Class A surface and integrated electronic functions. New materials allow for the integration of decorative and printed circuits on a three-dimensionally formed and back-injection-molded foil. Capacitive touch functions, such as sliders or wheels, can be realized in a very thin structure ensuring optimum reactivity and allowing integrated LEDs.
Other Heyco flagship products are IML components in 3D glass optics. By intelligently positioning various foils in different molding layers, a three-dimensional component featuring optically striking designs in glass optics becomes possible.
