Antex, a Spanish textile group specialised in synthetic yarns, will be launching its new eco-friendly yarn portfolio at Automotive Interiors Expo. It is now the exclusive filament spinner for Seaqual ingredient fibres, an initiative that removes waste from the sea and recycles PET items into high-quality fibres and yarns. To begin with, Seaqual has partnered with fishermen, currently only in the Mediterranean, but with plans to expand the project into other seas, oceans and rivers. Not only is there a need for tailpipe emissions to be reduced, but the production of cars has to become greener, too. Seaqual fibres can contribute to this effort.
Apart from Seaqual, Antex offers a number of other sustainable types of fibres and yarns. It can add dyes and additives and fine-tune the material formulation for every specific application.
