A system that eliminates manual handling of injection-molded parts will be the centerpiece of Buchner’s stand. Ensuring that the finish on plastic interior parts is flawless is vital in modern premium cars and manual handling jeopardizes that. Buchner has therefore developed a tray for securing components immediately after injection molding. Through painting and transport to final assembly, the parts never leave the tray until they are installed in the vehicle, thus running a significantly reduced risk of parts being contaminated or damaged.
An additional benefit of the trays is that they also eliminate the need for additional masking during painting, as the tray holds the component, presents it at the right angle, and covers the areas that need to remain unpainted.
