Once REACH CrVI compliance had been figured out, two-shot bi-mold technology came on the scene to make the chrome plating of plastic parts difficult again. Fortunately, DuPont Electronics and Imaging has solved the issue with its Ecoposit Plastic Metallization technology, a process designed for selective plating with two-shot molding. The process addresses sustainability and regulation concerns as well as cost and performance; incorporates REACH CrVI compliance; and includes a pretreatment that is free from ammonia, formaldehyde, phosphate and boric acid for full-body and two-shot plating.
