Historically, surface textures of car interiors have predominantly been leather grains. With the evolution of plastics and customers’ more positive perception of them, change is afoot. Architexture, the creative consultancy arm of Standex Engraving, gives designers the tools to make a difference.

It offers the opportunity to develop unique surface textures that enhance products with improved aesthetics, tactility and functionality. To aid communication in the design process, Architexture produces foils with the new texture that can be colour-matched and made gloss-specific to wrap onto clay models or pre-production models so that designs can be verified by senior management. Standex Engraving then offers the assurance of 42 global locations to deliver the production of the new design.
