Digitizing interior samples
Thierry

Thierry, a manufacturer of color standards, will introduce its new software at Automotive Interiors Expo in Stuttgart. The latest service from Thierry is the digitization of physical samples (using the TAC7 from X-Rite) to create a true visual replica of scanned samples. These digital files (AxF data) reflect surface (grain, orange peel/appearance, flop properties, gloss levels) and color (xirallic pigments, pearl effects). Carpets, plastics, wood, leather and seatbelts can also be scanned and digitized.

The AxF data can be used in nearly every virtual application, such as rendering programs (such as VRED), vehicle configurators (inside and outside), virtual videos and graphics, designs, virtual reality, marketing purposes and digital databases.

Due to the high quality and realistic representation of the scanned samples, this digital material production process is used in many OEM areas such as virtual design, and color and trim.
