Matrix pressure sensors
Conductive Transfers Limited (CTL)

Conductive Transfers Limited will showcase its ElastaSens matrix pressure-sensing technology at its booth. The company has manufactured more than 150,000 stretchable circuits for the Innovo medical smart garment since 2018.

The patented technology is flexible, thin, light and cost-effective. It is suitable for seat occupancy detection and other automotive applications. Unique resistive and/or capacitive sensing are supported. ElastaSens matrix pressure sensors can be used to provide a detailed real-time pressure map and the sensor performance is fully tunable. ElastaSens matrix pressure sensors are the result of a collaboration between CTL and Quantum Technology Super Sensors and uses Quantum3DTouch technology.

CTL’s 1,800m2 UK factory prints ElastaSens matrix pressure sensors on 1 x 0.7m sheets. The sensors are then heat pressed onto a range of fabrics including nonwovens, or onto stretchable polymer substrates such as TPU. Turnkey circuit prototyping and medium-scale production are fully supported with short lead times. Alternatively, customer design teams can use the process design rules to create their own innovative pressure sensors. Customers also have the option to license the technology for mass production and second sourcing.
