The Inception Concept, a brainchild of Peugeot's new design director, Matthias Hossann, epitomizes the future of electric vehicles and marks a transformative phase for the brand. The Stratasys J850 TechStyle 3D printer plays a pivotal role in crafting this vision by exclusively producing modern materials.

Peugeot's novel design architecture for electric vehicles, exemplified by the Inception Concept, revolves around a minimalist cockpit, reimagining the driving experience. Notably, the seats are upholstered in recycled polyester velvet with a striking 3D pattern, all brought to life through Stratasys 3D printing technology.

Maud Rondot, CMF designer in Peugeot's Advanced Design Team, has acknowledged the synergy of function and aesthetics. The velvet material extends beyond seats, doubling as a visually captivating floor mat. Stratasys 3D printing enables this fusion of functionality, texture and aesthetics, eliminating the need for traditional molds.

The choice of a metallic shade for the velvet, which interacts dynamically with light, adds a futuristic touch. The J850 TechStyle 3D printer, capable of producing semi-transparent 'micro-architecture', is a game-changer, offering flexibility, efficiency and sustainability to Peugeot's innovative design approach.
