With modern car interiors full of screens the last thing you want is for them to reflect light and distract the driver, so MacDermid Enthone Industrial Solutions has developed a version if its XtraForm Antiglare film that is particularly suited for displays. The films are specifically designed for deep-draw 3D film insert moulding (FIM) applications and automatic processing and are available in a range of different gloss levels and clarity. The films can be tailored to the needs of each OEM.
In addition to its reflection-dispersing coating, the company will also launch its new industry white paper at the show. This publication addresses the constantly-changing needs in the market as more and more cars use interactive touchscreen technology. In it, experts discuss how the display surface can be harmonised with the cockpit surface; the optical, transmissive and reflective requirements of the display; and the shape and continuity of the surface.
