3D formable functional films

The demand for lightweight and formable materials makes the use of functional films attractive in many areas of vehicle interiors. By chemically coating base films such as PC, PET, TAC and PI, Kimoto adds functions such as chemical and scratch resistance, light distribution and light absorption to foils. Application examples include the integration of large full-color displays, optical sensors and surface lighting into vehicle interiors. From flat surfaces to 3D formed parts, Kimoto will showcase materials that are formable using IMD/FIM and IML technologies, offering creative freedom to designers.
Where standard products do not meet all the requirements, the company develops tailor-made functional films in collaboration with customers and produces them in cleanroom R2R production facilities in Japan and the USA.
